UC Learning Center Access Matrix

Three things are required for access to the UC Learning Center (UCLC) Learning Management System across all roles, which vary by UCPath status:

  1. A UCR NetID
  2. An active user profile in the UCLC
  3. A record in IAM Riverside matching the UCR NetID to the user profile

Role

Employee or Contingent Worker

Campus Affiliate or LMS Guest

Strictly a UCR Student

UCPath Status Is or will be active in UCPath in any Job type.

Has never been & will not be active in UCPath in any role or Job type.

Description

Includes pre-hires, new hires, rehires**, transfers, and student-employees/CWRs.

Contingent Worker (CWR) includes volunteers, interns, visiting researchers, temporary employees, etc. See UCR Policy 650-85.

NEW: Has never accessed the UCLC.

RETURNING: Has previously accessed the UCLC, is returning to campus after a period of inactivity, and will retain the same UCR NetID.

Should strictly access the UCLC to complete activities required for facilities access, such as when working in a lab for academic credit.
A UCR NetID This is generated by either (a) entry into UCPath, OR (b) the IAM Riverside Process, OR (c) a submission of SIR by a student.

NEW: For a Campus Affiliate, this is generated by the IAM Riverside Process. For an LMS Guest, submit a ticket to ITS.

RETURNING: Already exists.

This is generated by submission of SIR by a student.
A user profile in the UCLC This is triggered by entry into UCPath.

NEW: This is created by the learner by using the UCLC Supplemental Profile Tool.*

RETURNING: Already exists.

A record in IAM Riverside This matches the UCR NetID to the user profile ID (UCNetID for employees and CWRs or ucrCID for all others). This is an automated process supported by ITS which facilitates the login process. Requires the EID be present in IAMRiverside and/or UCR NetID in UCPath for EEs and CWRs.
UCLC Access Process

The employee or CWR will automatically gain access to the UCLC two business days after the date they are made active in the UCPath system

If the employee or CWR has a UCR NetID already, either as a student or the result of the IAMRiverside Process, be sure to provide the UCR NetID to the Shared Services Center or enter the UCR NetID in the External System field of the Onboarding Template.

NEW: Once they have a UCR NetID, have them use the UCLC Supplemental Profile Tool* in the Supplemental Access box on the login page to create a user profile in the UCLC.

RETURNING: Once their UCR NetID has been reactivated, submit a UCLC Help Desk request to have their UCLC profile reactivated.

Have them use the UCLC Supplemental Profile Tool* in the Supplemental Access box on the login page to create a user profile in the UCLC.

Former student-employees who need access to safety training should submit a UCLC Help Desk request

*Using the Supplemental Profile Tool prior to entry in UCPath will result in multiple user profiles in the system. Submit a UCLC Help Desk request to merge training records under the UCPath profile.

**For rehires, their UCR NetID and UCLC profile already exist but may be inactive. Their profile will be reactivated by UCPath.

Visit the UCPath Campus Support Center website for details on the UCR NetID Generation and Onboarding process.
